Air Traffic Control Simulation

Aerosoft ATC Simulator Add-on Files

ATC Simulator provides a highly accurate simulation of the ARTS-IIIa radar scope used by controllers at terminal air traffic control facilities. Some of the features that make this software so realistic are the use of actual flight data and airport information, and a speech recognition program that eliminates the need for keyboard entry of commands. For more information about this excellent product, check out the ATC Simulator website.

Albany Departures File – This file adjusts the departures at Albany, NY to provide for a more even flow of traffic. The most recent version of ATC Simulator 1.0 includes higher traffic levels at all airports in response to user feedback, but results in overlapping departures at certain times. This updated departs.dat file does not randomly thin out the departures, but is the result of checking the data against actual flight schedules and removing duplicate information caused by airline timetable and flight number changes. To use this file, first back up the original, then copy it into your “ALB” sector folder, replacing the departs.dat file. The recently released version 1.5 of ATC Simulator corrects this problem, so this update is not necessary for that version of the program.
